Letters to My Daughter - May 2013

Dear Miss Magoo,

Your mommy is tired tonight, and wants to make sure to get this letter finished and published so that one day you can read it and laugh or cry or be grateful I did this for you!
So instead of a letter, (since my brain is not able to express many deep thoughts at this moment), I will make a list. You will learn over the years that your mom like to make lists. Lots of lists. Mainly inside my head, but often scribbled on scrap paper, telephone books, post its, and nowadays, digitally on the computer or my phone.

Your list of Loves.

You love your big brother Ry-ew(most days)
"Emu" aka Minnie Mouse
Building towers with megablocks
SCREAMING at the top of your lungs, especially in public places like the grocery store or antique shops
Books Books and more books
Shoes and more shoes (not sure where that comes from, your mom lives in flipflops!)
hugs and kisses and snuggles, especially before bed.
Your darn nummy (soother). Man, I wish you did not love that thing
Doc and Pia. aka Doc Mcstuffins and Sophia the first
Dancing
Gigi (the babysitter) and your two besties from daycare, Claire and Harper.

There. Now you will not forget the loves of your life at age 2!

And neither will your aging brainless mom :)

Zachary's Arrival - Newborn Hospital Session - Oakville Newborn Photography

He is here! He is here! Our new littlest family member, Zachary! (You can see his beautiful mama's maternity session here too!)
Zach's mom thought he would be here early just like his big sister but I guess Z had different plans.....and arrived a bit later than expected!
Nothing better than arriving at the hospital within a day to photograph a little baby. Everything is so new, even if its your second baby.
I love doing these sessions. And I use minimum editing in order to preserve every single detail from the busy messy hospital room, to the wrinkly newborn fingers, to the smiles and cries and frowns.
Because what mama wants to forget all those moments? None that I know of.
But I do know that with the sleepless nights that comes with a brand new life we often forget to notice these details....and that is where I come in.

Pure. Real. Love.

Can't wait to watch you grow baby Z...

Billy-bear - Oshawa Newborn Photography

OH MY! I do not know what to say about this family or this adorable little man! Or even about his beautiful nursery!! What style his mom has! Lindsay's mom and I work together and I am so happy that Grandma referred her daughter to me for her newborn photos. It was a bit of a drive for me, but totally worth as I am in love with these sweet and soft images. I wish all client's had light in their homes like this!
Billy was a dream to photograph, I do not think I heard him cry once!This post is HUGE, because i really could not decide on which images to show!
I really hope I get to photograph you all again one day,

It's a .....BABY!

What could be more fun than taking photographs of another photographer and her family? Fellow local photographer Michelle (see her work here!) asked me to take photos of her recent and exciting news...she is expecting baby#2! We headed to Erindale Park in Mississauga for some pregnancy announcement photos that she could use to share with her family and friends! What a fun way to share such amazing news!

Dear O
This month has been busy. Mom's life hectic. I feel I dont get to spend as much quality time with you as I wish I could. You are growing up so fast, learning so much, reading, writing, telling stories about everything! (You get the storytelling from your Dad!).
A part of me often wants to turn back time to when you were a baby, but another part of me loves seeing all these changes and can't wait until the next one, and the next! I just wish we could slow it down, or hit rewind now and then.
You are my little man buddy, and I wouldn't change a thing about you!

It Ain't Easy Being Two

Sweet Baby Girl, you will be TWO years old next week! Where did the time go? It seems like so long ago you were born, yet I cannot believe two years have already passed!

Your personality has grown so much these past couple months. You are hilarious, making us laugh all the time. Your favourite saying right now is "Ya baby!" and just today you started saying "I lub you ___________(insert Mommy, Daddy or Ry-ew, which is what you call your big brother).  Owen's face just lit right up today when we picked him up from school and you said "I lub you Ry-ew".  It amazing to see how much he adores you.

NOW...along with the great, comes the other side of your personality!

The Irish-Aries-Redhead Side. My Triple Threat is what I call you.
Are you stubborn? Are you determined? Is your mind made up when your mind is made up? Yes Yes and Yes!
